Famzee ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the Service.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us and information generated through your use of the Service.

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. If you sign in via Apple Sign In, we receive a unique identifier and, at your option, your name and email address from Apple.

Content You Upload

We collect and store the photos, videos, voice notes, captions, event details, and any other content you upload or create within the Service ("User Content"). This includes metadata associated with media files, such as file size and upload timestamp.

Location Data

If you enable location sharing within a family circle, we collect GPS coordinates to display your location to other circle members. Location sharing is strictly opt-in and can be disabled at any time in your settings. We also collect location data when you choose to tag a photo or event with a place.

Device and Usage Information

We automatically collect certain device information when you use the Service, including device type, operating system version, app version, unique device identifiers, IP address, and crash reports. We also collect information about how you interact with the Service, such as features used, screens visited, and session duration.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your photos or personal content to train AI models on identifiable individuals.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored using Supabase, a secure cloud infrastructure provider. Account data, family circle configurations, calendar events, and metadata are stored in Supabase's PostgreSQL database hosted on AWS infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit.

Photos, videos, and voice notes are stored in Supabase Storage (S3-compatible object storage) with private access controls. Media files are only accessible to members of the family circle they were shared in, via time-limited signed URLs — never via public links.

All data transmission between the App and our servers uses TLS encryption. We implement industry-standard security practices to protect your data, though no system can guarantee absolute security.

4. Children's Privacy

Famzee is designed for use by adults and teens aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Famzee complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Children may appear as subjects in photos, videos, and memories uploaded by adult account holders. In this context, children are the subjects of content, not users of the Service. Adult users are responsible for obtaining any necessary consents before uploading content that depicts minors.

If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information directly from a child under 13, we will promptly delete that information. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us at support@famzeeapp.com.

5. Location Data

Location sharing in Famzee is entirely opt-in. You control whether your location is shared, with whom it is shared, and when sharing is active. Specifically:

Photo and event location tags (geotagging) are stored as part of that content item and shared with your circle members. You may remove location tags from any photo or event at any time.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Famzee. Each has its own privacy policy governing their data handling practices:

Supabase

Our backend infrastructure and database provider. Supabase processes account data, content metadata, and stores your media files on our behalf as a data processor.

RevenueCat

Our subscription management platform. RevenueCat processes purchase receipts and subscription status information to manage your premium access. RevenueCat does not have access to your content or family data.

Apple Sign In

If you choose to sign in with Apple, Apple provides us with a unique identifier and optionally your name and email. Apple's privacy practices are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

We do not integrate advertising networks, social media trackers, or data brokers into Famzee.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your personal information and User Content for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service.

When you delete your account, we initiate deletion of your personal data within 30 days. During this grace period, your account can be restored if deletion was accidental. After 30 days, your account data, profile information, and all associated User Content are permanently deleted from our systems and cannot be recovered.

Certain data may be retained longer if required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or compliance with legal obligations. In such cases, the retained data is isolated and not used for any other purpose.

Individual photos, events, and other content items can be deleted at any time without deleting your account. Deleted content is removed from the Service immediately and purged from our storage systems within 7 days.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

To exercise any of these rights, you can use the account management tools within the App (Settings) or contact us at support@famzeeapp.com. We will respond to your request within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests.

Residents of California have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Residents of the European Economic Area have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Please contact us for jurisdiction-specific information.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information. Your continued use of the Service after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
